We don't sell one gift card product. We set up the one that fits your register, so the card swipes at the counter, shows on your reports, and doesn't need a second terminal.

Square
Square's built-in gift cards: digital eGift cards your customers buy from your website or Square Online and send by email, plus physical cards ordered through Square. Balances sync with the register and the app.
Clover on other processing
Clover's own gift card app runs on any Clover account. Physical and digital cards, sold at the counter or online, redeemed on any of your Clover devices.
Already have gift cards? On an Electronic Payments account we import your existing cards and balances at no charge, and you can keep using your current card stock.

Before you order cards
On an Electronic Payments merchant account, gift card transactions (sale, reload, redeem, balance) carry no per-transaction fee and there's no monthly or annual program fee. You pay for the physical cards themselves. On Square and Clover's own programs, the card processing and program fees follow their published pricing, and we'll show you those before you pick.

Yes. The sale settles like any other sale. Keep in mind that California treats gift card balances as the customer's property: cards can't expire, and balances under $10 must be redeemed for cash on request. We set the program up to comply, and your accountant should know the liability sits on your books until the card is used.
No. Gift cards run through your POS or your existing terminal. The platform integrates with Exatouch, Clover, PAX, Verifone, Equinox, Datacap, and others, so the card swipes where your credit cards swipe.
